Ulm Workshop on Psychopharmacology of Tourette Syndrome, August 1-3, 2012

Our "Workshop on Psychopharmacological Treatment of Tourette Syndrome" was successfully held on August 1-3, 2012, at Schloss Reisensburg near Ulm, Germany (programme). The workshop was kindly hosted by the University of Ulm and Prof. Andrea Ludolph and supported by the “European Network for the Study of Gilles de la Tourette Syndrome" (COST Action BM0905) in collaboration with the European Society for the Study of TS (ESSTS) and the German Society for the Study of TS (GTS).

2012 European Clinical Training School - Presentations available

catania-6The 2012 European Clinical Training School for Tourette Syndrome, supported by the European Network for the Study of GTS (COST Action BM0905) was successfully held in Catania Italy, June 6-8, 2012.

The Training School was organised by Prof. Renata Rizzo (Catania University) and Prof. Mary Robertson (UCL) and featured educational sessions on a broad range of topics related to Tourette Syndrome; from clinical presentation, introduction to assessement tools and clinical management to neurobiology and genetics.

Presentations are now available through our website!

The 2013 European Clinical Training School for Tourette Syndrome will be held in Athens, April 24-26, followed by our Annual Meeting and International Conference for TS. This year's Training School will be hosted by Democritus University of Thrace and Sismanoglio General Hospital of Attica.

15 Travel awards for early stage researchers and clinicians will become available by COST Action BM0905. More details about the programme and registration procedure, will be posted on our website shortly.

2012 ESSTS Annual Meeting - Proceedings

The 2012 Annual Meeting of the European Society for the Study of Tourette Syndrome and International Conference of COST Action BM0905, were successfully held on June 8-9, 2012, in Catania, Italy, hosted by the University of Catania and Prof. Renata Rizzo.

TS-EUROTRAIN: A Marie Curie Initial Training Network for Tourette Syndrome

Tchangehe European Network for the Study of Gilles de la Tourette Syndrome (COST Action BM0905) gains further support by the European Union (3,000,000 Euros), in order to establish a Marie Curie Initial Training Network for Tourette Syndrome.

TS-EUROTRAIN is a coalition of ten partners who aim to train the next generation of experts in the field of Tourette Syndrome and conduct large-scale collaborative research for Tourette Syndrome and related disorders.

TS-EUROTRAIN is coordinated by Dr Peristera Paschou from the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the Democritus University of Thrace, who also chairs COST Action BM0905. The TS-EUROTRAIN team includes academic experts from the University of Ulm, the Hannover Medical School, Utrecht University, University Medical Center Groningen, Semmelweis University, and the Kennedy Center.Participation of three partners from the private sector (deCODE genetics, Boehringer Ingelheim and SENSA BV from the project TACTICS) will build bridges between academia and industry.

The project is expected to start in October 2012. Positions for 12 International PhD Programmes will become available.

COST Action Workshop on Psychopharmacology of Tourette Syndrome, Ulm, August 1-3, 2012

The "European Network for the Study of Gilles de la Tourette Syndrome" (COST Action BM0905) in collaboration with the European Society for the Study of TS (ESSTS) and the German Society for the Study of TS (GTS) are pleased to announce a

"Workshop on Psychopharmacological Treatment of Tourette Syndrome".

With Prof. Renata Rizzo from the University of Catania, Italy, Prof. Hugh Rickards from Birmingham, UK and Dr. Irene Neuner from the University of Aachen, Germany  Reis2

This Workshop will take place at Schloss Reisensburg near Ulm, Germany, August 1-3, 2012, and will be hosted by the University of Ulm. It will emphasize translational aspects i.e. from the laboratory bench to the patient’s bedside. We encourage an intensive interaction between young clinicians, therapists and researchers and the senior scientists through discussion groups.

Registration will be open to a maximum of 20 participants in order to ensure interaction among participants and speakers!

The registration fee is 120 Euros. Admittance will be open to pre-registered participants only. Registration fees will be paid on site (cash or by cheque) and will include training materials, lunch and coffee break. Also the transfer and a guided tour to a pharmaceutical company is included. Information about the venue can be found here.
